I absolutely absolutely…. So so so dislike this diagnosis…. It drives me mad……
So Im going to get it out from the start……
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS !!!!!!!!!!! ‘UNEXPLAINED INFERTILITY’ – it does not exist….. it is in fact ‘POOR DIAGNOSIS’
There is a reason for everything…. This is now an extremely common and accepted diagnosis….. its common yes, but its so unexcept-able……
So what do you do when this is the cause… well fist off it depends on what stage you are at….. are you a few months in trying or a few years… have you gone you you doctor, consultant or IVF centre….
With fertility we know is takes two to tango….. its not just one person….. both people are 50-50% however 90% of testes are done on the female…. Male fertility is an after thought….
We then have to look into the three main causes…..
Is sperm getting to egg….
Is sperm fertilising egg….
Is implantation occurring…..
Your problem is within this framework….
Sperm getting to egg is either a sperm problem, within morality, morphology or count… trust me if you hear from your doctor, sure it only takes one sperm…. You have a male factor issue…. Around ovulation time, the body has ana amazing about of things happening at once….. one of the key areas is to insure your cervix is changing from an acidic environment to more alkaline environment….. if that’s not happen. 90% of the spermatozoon is being destroyed before you start…..
Is ovulation occurring….. and then fertilisation….. the next most common area is a lack of fertilisation… again this can be either a sperm of an egg issue….
Thirdly…. Implantation…. So imagine… you have an handful of seeds, and there are three environments, one planting seeds in snow, one in sand and the final a nice fertile piece of land…. Which is the best environment for you lovely seeds….. so yes this is where there can be implantation difficulties…. And this is the one I see most….. and this is where most of unexplained infertility occurs….
There are blood tests for your checking how well your ovaries are doing, tests for quality of sperm… tests to check your tubes are clear…. Check your progesterone….
However there are no accepted…. Ways of evaluating (there are but they are currently not accepted) lining and implantation difficulties….
However nature has provide us with a wonderful way of evaluating the potential for implantation issue….. your period…
Your period is a representation of the environment for implantation…. Its the best way for us to know whats happening. And that’s what we evaluate…. The quality of your period…. It gives us soo much information to help you to help you get pregnant. To help you go full term….
